Restoration

The sympathetic restoration and extending of Period English Heritage homes has been a large part of our staple work for the last few years.

We have been privileged to work on some fine listed properties including Staverton Manor, The Old Rectory at Grendon Underwood, Gayton Manor and the Showsley Grounds Farmhouse.

We have caried out a full restoration to the Old Manor House at Hanslope and converted a listed barn at Fandish into a stunning new home. We have also converted the former AJ Tear Factory into 10 high specification apartments. This northampton building is an important landmark builiding within the boot and shoe industry.

Shown below are some of the properties that we have restored. To the right are thumbnails of the original photos, clicking these will bring them up in full size.
The transformation at moulton.

Moulton

This is an example of a small contract we carried out on a derelict barn in the Northampton village of Moulton that was in a very poor state of decay. We rebuilt both gables, reinstated the chimney, which had collapsed completely and carried out discrete but effective structural repairs to stabilise the structure.
We also fitted new purpose made joinery and roofed the structure to restore it to its rightful state.

Farndish

Grade II listed former barn.

We carried out underpinning and heritage grout treatment to the external walls before fitting a steel frame internally to strengthen the structure. We then poured a new and reinforced concrete floor before setting about a conversion to transform this lovely old building into a fantastic family home.

Hanslope

We carried out a full refurbishment programme to the Old Manor House at Hanslope. The property was pretty much derelict when we were commissioned to carry out the works to it. Work included removal of all ground floors, reinstatement with new concrete slabs complete with under-floor heating and relaying of existing floors in either clay tiles as flagstones which were carefully removed, cleaned and restored or new oak flooring installed.

The whole home was renovated and had new heating a plumbing installed as well as new bespoke joinery to the exterior and to selected interior doors.

A new garage extension and garden room were added and remedial work was carried out to treat the floors and other materials before the interior could be plastered and then decorated. The result has been very pleasing and we are now contracted to a yearly planned maintenance schedule to this property.
